I seriously, seriously can't get enough of this song

I feel it is a perfect expression of how Jack loves me.  I don't know if HE thinks so, but that's not the point.  ;)

Lyrics:
Hold on, to me as we go
As we roll down this unfamiliar road
And although this wave is stringing us along
Just know you’re not alone
Cause I’m going to make this place your home

Settle down, it'll all be clear
Don't pay no mind to the demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found

Just know you’re not alone
Cause I’m going to make this place your home

that was a disaster...

I'm home sick today, so I thought I'd do a little photo archiving, and move all the pictures from my laptop to Jack's hard drive.  I then was going to organize all the photos by month and year, then burn to CD.

Sounds awesome, right?

Well, somehow, I deleted all the pictures from my laptop.

That means all the pictures from our wedding.
My mission.  Again.
Puppies.
Babies.
Vacations.
Honeymoon.
My garden.
Everyday stuff.

Poof.  Gone.

The lesson I learned?  Don't go deleting folders if you don't know what they mean.
And don't hit "Yes, I understand that by emptying the trash can I will forever relinquish all memories I've ever created with my camera."

Ugh.

I would add a picture to this post, but, you know...

We've been doing more of this lately...

And there's also been a lot of this:

I think those that are ready for fall just haven't spent enough time enjoying summer for what it's worth.  I'm just not ready to pack up the tent.

And as a side note -- that wedding post had 79 views!  WHAT?!  Weird.  Now there's all this pressure.  ;)
Just kidding... I know most of them won't come back and that is just fine.  I'm more concerned about the page views from Russia... Now that is weird.  Somewhere there is someone trying to assume my identity.  I'm pretty cool, but not that cool.

Happy things

The fact that tomorrow is Friday is super happy since the weekend is near.

This is why I will give you some happy things from my happy pinterest board.  Because they make me smile.  :)

There's sooo many more, and I'll share them later.  Tomorrow perhaps.  Since they make me happy.  :)

This introvert says...

PHEW!

Just got home from an all-staff retreat.  It was interesting, exhausting, fun, hard, and a lot of other things.  I haven't shared much about my workplace (only that my coworkers are beautiful) and there's a reason for that.  For one thing, I don't want to lose my job.  :)

I do love my coworkers and my work environment, for the most part.  There is one person within the entire department that I kinda feel is my personal nemesis.  He's condescending, rude and crazy demeaning.  I've never had an interaction with him that was positive.  I've always felt personally attacked and I really, honestly feel he is poisonous.  So, I stay away from him.  In fact, I try not to even look at him.  I think I can say that I kinda hate this guy.

In this retreat we talked a lot about work trust and dysfunction.  I learned that I have a lot of maturing to do.  Sometimes I do play the victim, and sometimes my ego does get in the way.  BUT, I also recognize that this other person has a lot (and I do mean A LOT) of maturing to do as well.  And the one thing this retreat was lacking was a concrete "how to".  I was really hoping to come away with a better grasp of what exactly we need to do to eradicate the poison.  I don't really feel I got that, which makes me a little disappointed.  Perhaps the only message that was shared was "look within and change what you can."  Well, that's all fine and dandy, but it doesn't help me when I come home crying after any sort of interaction with this guy.  *sigh*  Maybe I missed something.

In all this talk of character, performance, trust, and personality, I came to one really big realization, though.

I am an introvert.

Through and through.

If only for the fact that I am reflecting in a blog post all my personal feelings about this retreat.

And then I realized that that is why I like blogging.

It is an introvert's way of handling a predominantly extroverted world.

I don't know if that's really true, but it sounds good.  I'd much rather be at home typing about my feelings about the retreat than at Pub N Sub talking about it.  Not that I don't like talking, because trust you me... I DO.  But I am emotionally exhausted and I'm fine being home, typing out my thoughts, and listening to music.

I understand that this post is also just for me.  So, if you've made it all the way through, congratulations?  You are probably crazy.  :)

Pictures, as promised, but a day late...

Hello there!

I'm just going to post lots of pictures... 21 to be exact.  I know that is overkill, buuuut, too bad.

This is my beautiful coworker Erin just as she is walking down the aisle.  :)
You'll see a lot of my beautiful coworkers.  You see, all my coworkers are beautiful and super lovely.  I like them a lot.

The wedding took place in Bear Valley, CA... which is pretty near In The Middle Of Nowhere, CA.  The drive was seriously CRAZY, but it had pretty flowers along the way.

We camped at Lake Alpine.  GORGEOUS!  Our campsite was obviously meant for us as it already had our initials.  It may have been our last camping experience of the year, but it was good.

And now for the perfectly perfect wedding reception...

Here's the fabulous band with an extra guest guitarist.

 Pie.  Enough said.

Erin's dress was amaaaazing!

 Stunning, right??

Just funny.

So, I was laying on the grass, trying to get a picture of this guy playing his guitar, when...

Little brother thought it would be hilarious to step right in front of my camera.  Like right in front.  Staring at me through the lens.  Then the little punk took off too fast for me to get HIS picture.  :)

The happy, married couple!  Thank you for such a wonderful weekend!!

And thanks for looking at this blog post of mostly people you don't know... but I like them.

If I were to do my wedding over again...

Just got home from my co-worker's wedding in Bear Valley, CA.  If I were to do my wedding over again (well, the reception part) I would do it exactly like that.

Holy.Stinkin.Gorgeous!

The decorations were AMAZING.  The food was sooooo good!  (Our food was super delicious, too... but I'd rather have our family out celebrating than in the kitchen slaving away... thanks again, family!)  The band was AWESOME... like, I'm gonna find their CD and listen to it every day of my life kind of awesome.  The reception was absolute perfection.

I'll post pictures tomorrow.  Right now we're headed to Mama Mitchell's for dinner.

I'll just say it -- this weekend is super cool.
