I've had some comments about the greatness of the wedding weekend pictures. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but they are pretty good. You see, most people post the good ones, not the bad ones. Which is what I did. I picked the best and put them up.
BUT if I were to be truly honest, I would post the pictures that pretty much sum up the majority of my pictures from that weekend. So I will. This way, I can paint a better picture of my frustrations.
I give you....
Wrong exposures:
What the crop?!
Ummm.... could I possibly focus??
And last, but not least (by ANY means), my difficulty with my camera's low ISO (and clearly my inability to have any sort of white balance):
Considering I was asked to take pictures at the reception and these are how most my pictures turned out, it was rather disheartening. And these are the ones that even made it on the computer. There were sooo many more that I deleted in my camera because they were so bad. My last post showed that I am much much much better in natural light. So that's what I'll stick with. Except at all the RS activities...
Now, if you'll excuse me, I just took a Benedryl. I need to go crash on the couch now.
I love Saturdays!

Growth
One week ago:

You can actually see them now! :)
Here are some pictures from that weekend:
On our way down to Sacramento-
The only reasonable picture I got of the bride and groom. I'm telling ya... I was not a very good photographer on this trip.
But I do adore this picture. So much.
I'm also a big fan of the next two. I like stationary things. And natural light. :)
ANNND, then there's reception disaster. These are the only decent pictures I got. The rest are... horrible. High ISO is kinda an important thing in a really dark place. And white balance.. say wha?! haha
But, in the meantime, I'll be taking pictures. Lots of them. My new calling is Relief Society photographer. haha! No joke. It's a made-up calling, but I think it will be fun... and perhaps it's just the thing I need.
So WATCH OUT!
Tonight:
You can actually see them now! :)

I have some more pictures to share. Perhaps you don't remember, but I remember well. That weekend in which the thought of giving up on photography took full command of my mind...Here are some pictures from that weekend:

I read a really amazing article on this blog that mentioned that you need to know WHO you are deep down inside before you should even consider being a serious photographer. I have a loooong way to go before I know what that is, for photography and for my life. I wish I could grow as fast as my tomato plants. But sometimes I feel more like the ones my cat got a hold of... chewed up and pathetic, struggling to just make it through the day. :) But, in the meantime, I'll be taking pictures. Lots of them. Signs of hope
Remember how I told you we were going to hand till our yard? Our ENTIRE yard? ahahaha... yeah. I can't walk anymore.
About a week ago I started some seeds. To my surprise tonight, I found this...
13 (!) tomato plants have sprouted!! My basil, chive, rosemary, and lavender seeds haven't popped up yet, but there's hope!
I need to get my lettuce, spinach, and peas planted. And I haven't even LOOKED at the eggplant and radish packets.
But there's hope. Yessiree, there's hope!
P.S. I need a macro lens! :) hahah

Tuna the Cat and mmmm sun!
The most incredible sunset I've ever seen on the drive home from Vegas after our honeymoon. (I didn't TOUCH this picture in any photo enhancing program)
Even washed out with the flash, we still look so tan. Well, more tan than we are now. *sigh* Hawaii...
Little puppies... (ignore the butt)
Look closely... Sister CROWTER. I MISSPELLED MY OWN NAME!! We went back the next P-Day so I could spell my name correctly. Oh goodness. This picture kills me every time.
HOLY dang, short shorts!
This makes me so happy. :) You know he cleaned the house while I was at work?? WHAT a guy, huh?
*************
I just watched Eat Pray Love. I really liked it. I mean, I think her reason for divorcing her husband was LAAAME. BUT, the idea behind it. Okay, so it was just all the pretty shots of Italy, India, and Bali. Bali... *sigh* I want to go to Bali.
**************
I realized after watching Tangled the other night that I don't dream anymore. I used to be so full of ideas of the future and what I wanted to do and see. It was sad to me because I remember being so full of so many dreams. I wonder what changed -- Is it age? Is it satisfaction with life? Is it that instead of dreaming of travelling the world, I dream of gardening? I'm haven't quite processed my feelings on this point.
Do YOU still dream?

pretty good day
Things are most certainly looking up!
(Reno Balloon Races, 2006)
I'm at least up out of the fetal position. :)
On a totally different note -
We are going to rototill our yard... by hand. I'll let you know how that turns out. If I can move my arms.

Oh. Hello there, life-changing situation that I have not an ounce of control over....
If anyone needs me, I'll be curled up in the fetal position.
