blog change

I should change my blog... or at least update the little header things up above.  BUT, I need to go to sleep so I can get up and go to the gym tomorrow morning.  *cough, cough*

So, in due time, it will be a little more exciting here.  Or, at the very least, updated.

Also, I will be sharing tons and tons of photos from Jack's birthday weekend get-away.  We stayed in the oh-so-exciting Folsom.

Folsom.  I spent the entire weekend singing Johnny Cash. "I hear the train a'comin'.  A'comin 'round the bend..."

"I killed a man in Reno, just to watch him die."

Such inspiring lyrics.

It is nice to get out of town!

Here's some sneak peaks:

Valentine's Day (Part II)

Sorry this has been so long coming.  With Jack's birthday and an out-of-town experience, I just didn't get to my favorite part about Valentine's Day.

Jack is the sweetest man alive.

There is a sandwich shop in town -- Roses -- that is sooo good that has become the running joke between me and a coworker.  One day Jack said he'd bring me lunch, so I told my coworker he was bringing me Roses.  She responded, "Oh how sweet!  My guy never brings me flowers."  hahah...

On Valentine's Day, this same coworker wondered out loud if anyone would get flowers.  To which she said, "If anyone will, it will be Danielle.  You guys are the cutest couple ever."  I chuckled -- Jack and I had plans to get Roses for lunch.

Then not even 5 minutes later, there was a delivery of roses... real potted roses.  For me.  I was blown away.

We did end up having Roses for lunch.  (The morning's doctor appointment spoiled it for me, though, and instead of a turkey/mozzarella sandwich on rye with pesto dressing -- YUM -- I got a lame salad.  Dang doctor.)

After work, Jack also treated me to a couple's massage at Massage Envy that was amazing.  NOT as incredible as Jack's hot stone massages, but I was pretty dang pleased.

So the whole day was this tug-of-war between great and not great.  BUT, great always wins.

Because Jack is my champion.  :)

Valentine's Day (part 1)

Happy (belated) Valentine's Day!

Yesterday was weird.

It was awful and beautiful.  I was filled with so much love, but a sufficient amount of loathing.

This is part one of yesterday and it started like this:

When I first saw this, it made me laugh out loud.

It's not so funny when a real doctor tells you this repeatedly for over an hour.

I started off yesterday at the doctor's office and, no joke, this is exactly what I heard the whole time.

It sucked.

So, my New Year's Resolution of living a healthy life has been reinforced.  Though the way this came about has just made me depressed.  Like down and down depressed.

Really puts a damper on the thought of sushi tonight.

sucky.

BUT... stay tuned for PART TWO of my Valentine's Day!  :)

Saturday

Jack is working today.  BOO!  I feel like this little fact is incredibly lame.

I sat here thinking, "WHAT am I going to do?"

There's always laundry.  Or dishes.  It's too cold and gloomy outside to pretend to work in the "garden".

Lame.

Then I thought, "I'm going to MAKE something."  I haven't made something for a long time.  And I'm going to.

Here are some ideas from Pinterest (sources under the picture):

Bird feeder or Bird bath:

Glow in the dark rocks:

LOTS of birdhouses:

That should be enough to keep me busy until Jack gets home tonight, right?!

And they're way more fun than laundry and dishes.

What are YOU doing today?

Power

This song is powerful.

I've watched it a million times today.  It is living, breathing ART -- the way he sighs, the way she looks at him.  Oh, lovely.  Powerful, sad, beautiful.

Enjoy!

New Haircut AND New Glasses...

I promised, and for once, I am makin' good on that promise.

Man, I'm not sure if it's my computer, but my hair looks DARK in this picture.  It is not almost black, I promise.  Though... I wouldn't mind.  :)

It's an a-line cut and it's sooo cute!

Oh yes, and those ARE new Marc Jacobs glasses with fun stripes on the side.  (Not that I know who Marc Jacobs is, but my co-workers thought it was a big deal.)

Yes, there are a bajillion pictures of me on this here post.  Sorry!  But, I was trying to find a "before" picture of me, and really there aren't any of just me.  And I'm BEAUTIFUL so why the heck not?!  :)

Lemonade

My "water" this week:  new glasses and a hair cut.  Pictures tomorrow.

My sugar:  ALWAYS this guy.

So, yeah, I was handed some lemons this past week, but I sure have made some sweet lemonade!
