I had two goals last Thanksgiving:
1-Take pictures of humans
2-Use my 50 mm fixed lens
I succeeded doing both, but a lot of my pictures are of D'On's new (soon-to-be) adopted kiddos, so I can't post them yet. They are adorable, too, which makes it a shame. Another day.
(I did not succeed with manual focus, fyi. Sorry... I need to practice and have not been.)
From Thanksgiving in Las Vegas, November 2013:
P.S. I think blogger is automatically "touching up" my pictures. I haven't processed these at all, but my face looks plastic in the above picture, don't you think?? Weird.

Darrell is in India
Darrell and Angie moved to India last summer. Crazy, right?!
Angie and kids are back in the States now, and Darrell is finishing up the school year in India. Almost done.
THIS is how long it's been since I blogged. :)
Before they left, they flew me down to Vegas to say goodbye. SOOO nice. It also happened to be D'On's birthday, so the three of us and families went out on Lake Mead to have a good time. And we did! SO FUN. I can't wait to see these people again.

Patrick's Point 2013
This could also be titled: Our 4th Anniversary
Or: That time we went to a family reunion and ended up spending the whole time by ourselves
It was not the best Patrick's Point experience. There's something to know about Jack and myself. We are introverts to the introverth degree. In a family of extroverts, it's hard to fit in.
At any rate, it was our 4th anniversary, so we used that as an excuse to get away from what was not my favorite experience. And, Patrick's Point is GORGEOUS, so it is hard to feel too bad for ones self.

Throwback Thursday
Can you do throwback Thursday on a blog?? Am I committing a social media faux pas?
Who cares?!
These are from my Holga film camera, one of the Christmas morning treats. They make me happy.
From Disneyland and the beach, May 2012:
(This ride TERRIFIED me, if you can't tell. Mickey's Wheel of Fun was not so fun.)

4 1/2 year old treat
For Christmas, Jack and I gathered up every roll of film we could find around the house and got them developed. We didn't look at the pictures until Christmas day. What a treat on Christmas morning! I was giddy.
Among those pictures were a few from our wedding reception. They are not the best quality, but they make us laugh whenever we look at them. 2009 doesn't seem that long ago, but everyone looks so young!
