What a lovely birthday

It truly was a lovely day.

We went out for breakfast.  I had a sneaky suspicion Jack was planning something.  He's a terrible liar, and gets this silly smile I LOVE when he's trying to hide it from me.

Jack and I spent a good portion of the time running around donations from our garage.  It's nice to get things done.

And then we headed to my surprise birthday party.  SO FUN!  THANK YOU everyone that came!  It was such a good time!

YAY for birthdays!

Early Birthday Presents

I'm not gonna lie.

I think that tree is going to crash into our house tonight.  The WIND we're getting right now...!  I'm a little scared.

Despite the wind and potential snow, I have lovely plans of working on the yard for my b-day.  Jack took me shopping last night and today.  Here are some of my goodies...

Periwinkle:

It is a shade-loving, quick-growing ground cover that will hopefully take over the rock wall area until we have enough money to add some height variety.

Honeysuckle

We bought two species.  I love the smell of honeysuckle.  It reminds me of playing outside at my aunt's house in California.

Trumpet Vine
We actually thought this was a type of honeysuckle too.  But it's not.  We're hoping it will act the same as the honeysuckle, though.

Roses
I had a coupon for a buy 2 get 1 free at Home Depot.  And they were on sale.  So, I got some roses.  I'm not entirely sure where to put them though.

Broom Flower (?)

I can't fully remember the name of this bush and I'm too lazy to get up and check, but I liked how sunny and yellow it is.

We also got some more soil (I had a coupon for that too) and some bricks for a little wall we're building (that wouldn't have worked with the rocks).

The guy at the nursery advised us to keep the plants inside until Tuesday when this storm is supposed to pass.  Now we have one lovely room FULL of green things.  Including our little tomato plants, just biding their time...

Birthday in t-minus 3 days.  :)

I need your help.

Today marks the first day of the weeklong festivities of celebrating Danielle's day.  Yes, folks.  My birthday is one week away.  And though it is supposed to rain all weekend, thus ruining what my husband calls "unrealistic" plans (we can landscape the entire yard by ourselves in a weekend -- right?!), that is okay.  Because Danielle's day will be wonderful still.

I wanted to post some pictures of the only blooming things I have around this place.

See this leaning tree?
People have said, "Oh, it doesn't lean that bad."

Um, the house is holding it up, people.
It's that bad.
So I finally granted Jack permission to use a chain saw on it.  Kinda freaks me out.

HERE'S WHERE I NEED THE HELP...

We bought a lot of rocks for the rock wall.

I do mean a lot of rocks.  The only trouble is, the wall is finished and we have all these rocks.  We don't know what to do with them!  (These are about 1/2 of them.)  And I haven't found any ideas on the internet to help me deal with all these rocks.

Here's what I need -- YOUR IDEAS.  Below you will find pictures of my backyard in all its barren glory.  I will welcome ANY IDEA you give about what to do with these rocks.  PLEASE!  :)

I'm at a loss.  Suggestions??
