Sara Bareilles - Gravity
Lyrics:
Something always brings me back to you. It never takes too long.
No matter what I say or do I'll still feel you here 'til the moment I'm gone.
You hold me without touch. You keep me without chains.
I never wanted anything so much than to drown in your love and not feel your rain.
Set me free, leave me be.
I don't want to fall another moment into your gravity.
Here I am and I stand so tall, just the way I'm supposed to be.
But you're on to me and all over me.
You loved me 'cause I'm fragile. When I thought that I was strong.
But you touch me for a little while and all my fragile strength is gone.
Set me free, leave me be.
I don't want to fall another moment into your gravity.
Here I am and I stand so tall, just the way I'm supposed to be.
But you're on to me and all over me.
I live here on my knees as I try to make you see that you're
everything I think I need here on the ground.
But you're neither friend nor foe though I can't seem to let you go.
The one thing that I still know is that you're keeping me down.
You’re on to me, you’re on to me and all over…
Something always brings me back to you. It never takes too long.

The rain was tailor made for me.
I am released. I am finally free.
My nephew Seth's birthday was today. I sat with all the adults in the safety of the garage, watching a half dozen neighborhood kids zoom around on bikes and scooters in the desert rain. Laughter and sweet, wet dust filled the air with such a savory smell--I smiled. This is what happiness is made of.
If he was always keeping me down, there's no reason I shouldn't be up. Gravity loses its hold. Freedom.
That is truly what happiness is made of.
!!!
Every week (or almost every week?) I'd listen to Archuleta sing and think, "Oh his voice is so smooth! I love it! He should win!" Then Cook would come on with his rough, sexy voice and I'd think, "Oh man! That's what I'm talking about!" THEN they both made it to the two finalists and trying to determine who to vote for was quite taxing on my mind.
One plays guitar, which is totally hot, by the way. The other is just so cute and I'm sure can sing a mean sacrament hymn. The verdict was to vote for neither (mostly because I've never voted before, so why should I now?).
